Most Pocket Knives Make a Great First Impression. Then They Quit on You.

You have carried this knife before. It felt fine in the store. A month later the blade rocks side to side. The edge that flew through cardboard starts to drag. The lock loosens, the clip bends, and the handle turns slick after one summer in your pocket. Now it is one more thing you have to manage.

The Cyber Edge splits the work between two systems. The liner lock holds the blade flush open with no play. The ball-bearing pivot carries the motion. Because they are separate, a smooth open never costs you a tight lock. That is the difference you feel months in, when a typical budget folder would already be rattling.

Why Cyber Edge Stands Out

list icon
Holds its edge when other knives quit

D2 tool steel at 58-62 HRC. In independent CATRA wear testing, its edge retention rivals premium steels that cost significantly more. Break down a pile of boxes and it still bites into the next one.

list icon
Locks up tight and stays that way

The liner lock wedges the blade flush, with no side-to-side and no up-and-down play. You open it and cut, without checking the lock first.

list icon
Opens like glass, one-handed

A caged ball-bearing pivot with a flipper tab and thumb cutout. Fully manual, so there is less to wear out and nothing to jam.

list icon
Takes the abuse of daily carry

Textured G10 and anodized titanium hardware shrug off moisture, grit, and pocket wear. Wipe it clean and keep moving. No oiling, no babying.

This is a versatile and attractive unit that is fairly intuitive to use. There are felt pads on the back that make sliding without scratching the wall easy. There is an internal battery charged via a USB port. There is a USB cable, but no charger is included. Functionally, it had no issues accurately detecting studs, metal, or live wiring. Unfortunately, studs and water pipes use the same detector, and telling which one is which would be pretty important. GIven how much it does, it is a very good value for the money.

Just got this Cyber Professional Stud Finder and I'm impressed that for $89 it does everything I actually need in one tool. I already have a good quality stud finder from Home Depot that works great for regular wood studs, and I confirmed that this one is equally as accurate on that front.

The real advantage for me is the multi-mode scanning. My building has metal framing in some spots and I definitely don't want to drill into any live wires. This thing handles wood studs, metal objects, and live AC detection really well. The electrical sensitivity is especially impressive. I tested it on an extension cord and it picked it up from almost a foot away.

I feel way more comfortable using this over any other stud finder I've tried. Being able to pick up on metal or electrical gives me a lot more confidence before I drill.

The back has a nice felt material that lets it glide smoothly across the wall, plus there's a clear indicator showing exactly where the sensor is. The instruction manual is actually well written and easy to follow, and it even includes links to helpful videos.

Overall this is a solid all-in-one scanner. If you need reliable stud, metal, and especially live wire detection, this one is worth grabbing especially for the price.

We have a house built in the 40's which had weird wall materials and unconventional stud placement . I had trouble with so many stud finders but this one worked so well that I feel I didn't pay enough for it . Lol. If you have a house with annoying walls , get this !!

Frequently Asked Questions

D2 is a high-carbon tool steel with moderate corrosion resistance, not stainless. Wipe the blade dry after wet or acidic use and it holds up fine. That is the trade for an edge that lasts, and it takes two seconds.

No. It is fully manual, opened by a flipper and thumb cutout, with no assisted spring.
Blade-length and carry rules change from state to state and city to city, so check the rules where you live before you carry.

Yes, for cutting. Packages, rope, zip ties, and straps, all day. It is built to cut, not to pry, so keep it off screws and paint-can lids.

Yes. The flipper, the lock release, and the reversible clip all work for either hand.
